After 19 years our refrigerator gave out the morning of Father's Day 2022. I was devasted because I had planned to cook dinner and invite my family over. Well my husband and I ended up shopping for a refrigerator that afternnon went to the store and saw this beauty that stood out in the crowd. After comparing features and prices, this GE refrigerator won! I know that GE is known for making great products and this refrigerator was just the right size and had the features that we were looking for. As having to quickly replace our dying fridge we were happy to find a similar one at our local Ritcheie's Furniture and Appliance store. This it's first day in our home so we can't say much on its performance other than its has begun to cool like its supposed to. They are very good to do business with as we have done business withem for several years now. Ok, back to my appliance review. The GE double door fridge we purchased has the basic features we were looking for as we wasn't looking for the artificial innteligent ones because of their expensive price and i dont like my fridge being smarter than me lol. Skimpy door shelves and drawers

I was replacing a similar product that lasted almost 20 years. When it was installed and the shelving was unpacked and installed, I realized the drawer and shelving space was less than half of the previous model. Also the refrigerator was freezing my food stored in the back at 37F, and I had to raise it to 39F to keep food from freezing in the refrigerator side. On the plus side, the lighting makes the items look good.

Ice Maker Issue

My fridge slot is against a wall which prevents me from fully opening the freezer door. This is not the fault of GE; however, my previous GE fridge's ice maker had a front access, this one must be pulled out to access ice bin from the top… and there is a sliding shelf right above the ice bin… neither of which I can pull out far enough to access the ice bin… without walking the whole unit out into the room. So far, my work around is to remove the top shelf from its wall slots and simply set it atop of the bin. This allows access, but makes using the shelf difficult to impractical. The initial fill of the ice bin was unacceptably loud… I hope it will be less noticeable when the bin is partially filled. I miss the thin dairy drawer my previous model had. I would have paid more for more features, but my wife said black only and black was hard to come by in February of 2022. I stuck with GE because they own the best ice patents and have been reliable in the past.

The refrigerator is performing as advertised. Some of reviews I read said that this model was a little noisey, but so far this one is very quite. My only dissappointment is that the interior refrigerator space is not as spacious as my previos refrigerator even though they are the same size in specs.

Needs More Storage

Not worth the money

Before a month of having the refrigerator the ice maker and water dispenser stop working. They sent a technician out and it still doesn't work. I'm on my second call for a technician for a refrigerator I just purchased brand new and there is nothing I can do but keep letting them come out to try to fix the problem. Very frustrated and upset

plenty of shelves, deep roomy , resist smudges from little fingers ,the ice tray stays full, the door alarm helps with the power bill, down side i cant refill a plastic water bottle and have to remember to change settting for water if last person got ice
